ABOUT US

Spiritual Resource Services is dedicated to providing education, research and advocacy in the Christian faith. Advocacy includes the devotion to obtaining spiritual, social and legal services to those in need.

Its sister corporation, Environmental Experiences, Inc., marked its 25th anniversary of adventure programming in 2003. Once cited as one of the top ten environmental programs in the Eastern United States, EE, Inc. fosters rapid changes in self-perception and growth, providing environmental education and technical instruction in rappelling and climbing, fast water canoeing, caving, backpacking, Native American culture, and emergency medicine.

These programs point to an increasing need to research, explore and report on the impact of the spiritual domain of our lives and our growth and health as individuals and as a community. This reporting is reflected through many various but integrated avenues of expression in our articles: Essays, scientific and technical writing, personal coaching strategies, new developments in the mental/physical health field and the like.

Director John S. Hilkevich, holds a BS in Education, an MA (With Distinction) in Counseling Services, and a Ph.D. (Summa Cum Laude) in Psychology. He has over 25 years of experience in teaching and developing mental and spiritual health programs and activities. Dr. Hilkevich earned certifications in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Addictions Counseling, Domestic Violence Counseling, and is an  Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). Dr. Hilkevich's background in spiritual studies, education and advocacy provides him with a rich resource as he devotes his full attention to the mission of Spiritual Resource Services and Prayergear.com along with related ministries.

Serving three years as President of his township rescue squad and an accredited emergency response course instructor, Dr. Hilkevich is familiar with emergency medicine on the physical and emotional levels as well as organizational management. He produced two award winning video documentaries on suicide and alcoholism and is the author of numerous publications and the co-editor of Don’t Think About Monkeys (Hope Press, CA, 1992), a unique client-centered look at neurological disorders with a foreword by world-renown neurologist, Dr. Oliver Sacks.
