BioEnergy Photos
Unless you are already familiar with Kirlian photography (a specialized photographic technique pioneered by Russian scientists and replicated all over the world) or photos of energy fields around both animate and inanimate things, this photo-gallery will not make much sense. For a context and background, please refer to my articles, "Prayer Versus God's Will", and "EFT and Spirituality" found on this web site.
There has been ongoing controversy regarding what we are really looking at, namely the question of whether the visible light translation (photo) of the energy field is a product of the actual field or rather a result of the technique itself. Colors of energy fields or of "auras" hold significance as reflections of the state of consciousness and health of the subjects and there are many good books and journal articles outlining the meaning of the colors. Of course, I will not deny that the variables in technique (film speed, type of film, electric pulses, etc.) will produce variations in colors. But this is also true of plain old light photography: A picture of a sunset taken on a 35 mm, high quality 100 asa film will look different than one taken on a 110 mm, cheap brand 400 asa film than from one taken with a Polaroid instant camera. However, that sunset will have the same recognizable features in all three cases and no one would accuse the photographer of creating the sunset like some would assert that Kirlian photos create, not record, the energy field.
All these photos were variable controlled: Taken on the same film, same conditions, same technical specs, same night and developed by the same process. Now consider my suggestions for the variations in color and their implications in the healing, therapeutic, medical and spiritual domains.
Prints #1 and #2: Human Thumb and Index Finger

Fingerprints are evident, though most are obscure by the redness. The color red is traditionally associated with high energy emotion, such as anger or distress, which makes sense in these photos since this is the portion of the body in physical contact with the conducting plate. However, note that the subjects report experiencing no conscious discomfort, implying perhaps the procedure was detecting stress or excitement at the unconscious level. The white "aura" projecting outward from the fingers is associated with a healthy, vibrant state of consciousness. The white diffuses into a secondary band that is almost pinkish, suggestive of a "balance" or integration of the states suggested by the red and white colors.
Prints #4 and #5: Phantom Leaf Effect

Other researchers have explored the notion that even when a limb is amputated, there still remains, at least for some time, the morphogenic energy field around which those living cells once organized. This field is still detectable after those cells have been physically removed. Here we are looking at leaves that have been cut in a circular fashion leaving the section above the stem. The stem and veins are clearly evident and red, but interestingly, the white outlines of the parts of the leaves which were cut away are also still present. Also notice, however, that this white "aura" differs significantly in appearance from the more intense vibrancy of the human fingers. (Some Kirlian researchers have claimed to be able to detect, via the energy field photos, diseases in the organism prior to being evident to the physical eye. We know that disease incubates on the cellular level long before it spreads throughout the organism when it is medically detectable. Some have postulated, such as practitioners in the "energy-therapies", that disease and disorders begin in a disrupted or disorganized energy field before it moves into the physical cells.)
Print #6: Human Hair

A snip of human hair is considered to be a conglomerate of dead cellular tissue, in the sense that there are no nerve (or energy) pathways or meridians to transmit sensation or feeling. Indeed it is interesting that the hair's field is strikingly different that the fingers or leaves: dark blue with very little white color projection.
Print #7: Live Snake

The only discomfort to the snake was the undesirable feeling of being restrained for a few minutes. Note the predominately red projections with the much smaller band of white compared to the human subjects.
Print #8: Metal Cross

This photo teased my curiosity above all the others. I placed a stainless steel cross I had worn for many years, which was uniform in color, on the conducting plate. The results were quite unexpected. The predominate color is blue, like that of the hair, which is to be expected. However, at the four extremities of the cross there appears the white color associated with life and consciousness, as well as the two thin white lines on the main shaft. Also very interesting and remarkable are the two red dots on each portion of the cross where Christ's hands and feet would have been placed (or more accurately, wrists and ankles; the ancient Romans means of execution by crucifixion required the stakes to be nailed other than into the hands and feet since these extremities would not have been able, anatomically speaking, to support the weight of the person, ripping right off. The scientific studies of the Shroud of Turin attest to this.) Also note that the head portion of the cross also shows red marks, but are more diffused compared to the well-defined points of red on the other portions of the cross.
Throughout history there have been documented cases of the phenomenon of "stigmata", the appearance of wounds, sometimes bleeding, on persons who strongly identify with the sufferings of Christ. The position of these unexplained red marks (which did not show on any other subject we photographed that night) might suggest a stigmata effect, a projection of mine onto an "inanimate" object. Various spiritual traditions describe how scared objects, through frequent use, "take on" the energy milieu of the rituals and thus become "charged" with healing energy. This is why such care and reverence is provided to the sacred tools of the spiritual practices of communities from the Native Americans to our world's temples and churches. Elements of the earth, such as water from certain locations, or the popular quartz crystals whose energy is recognized by modern technology and used in electronic systems, or the sacraments of our religious traditions, have long been revered and used for their healing effect on our energy fields and elevating our consciousness. Indeed, faith is the morphogenic field of matter, a paradigm that works for me. As the Native Americans and philosophers of all traditions have taught, all life is sacred, animated by the energy from the Divine Source, our Creator, and worthy of study and our attentive care.
