| From R., in prison since 1999 Dear John...[I]n about a week I will start a new chapter in my life...Though I face a lot of unknowns, I'm prepared to allow God to be my guide. I believe He brought me to where I am so that I can put all my trust in Him. "But as for me, I trust in you, O Lord; I say you are my God. My times are in your hands; deliver me from the hand of my enemies and from those who persecute me" (Psalm 31:14-15). I'll contact you as soon as I can when I get settled. I wish to see my father as soon as possible...It will be a long, slow process rebuilding my life and I'm going to take it one day at a time. I can't thank you or your parents enough for all your love and support through these difficult times...I can't wait to get together and see you all! May God's grace, peace and joy bless you all. |
| From B, in prison since 1996 A prison cell is just another place in God's kingdom, the earth is the Lord's and all that dwell in it...In the Bible it says His ways are above our ways. Sometimes we only see a small part of the whole picture...We can trust that the Lord not only sees, but knows the whole truth...So the best that we can do is walk in faith, faith that He knows all and has purposeful meaning in all that he does or allows to happen. This boil's down to one thing: Trust in the Lord, "lean not on your own understanding, but in all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall make your paths straight."...God bless you all and thank you for letters and prayers of support. They have been a blessing to me. Update: On February 15, 2006, B died in prison.
He is now free. B sketched this image of Christ and sent it to us a few months
ago.

| From O, innocent and in prison since 2000 John, I desire that you keep this in your heart: My faith is still strong and I won't be shaken by any outcome from the courts. I have understood from long ago that my God is the same yesterday, today and forevermore. He was God when all my appeals were filed, and He is God still now though the appeals have been rejected thus far. And from this time forward He will remain God, and as long as He is God, there is hope for me in Him. |
