6. Weekly Reflection: "Adjusting the Focal Point" (Part
1 of 4)
--------------------------------------------------------------
Greetings to all of you once again and a great welcome to our new
subscribers! "It is wonderful to be grateful and to sing
Your praises, Lord Most High! It is wonderful each morning to
tell about Your love and at night to announce how faithful You
are. I enjoy praising Your Name to the music of harps, because
everything You do makes me happy, and I sing joyful songs."
(Ps. 92:1-4.) I thank you that I can sing His praises to you and
I trust you will sing along with me.

1. ~~ ** Mini-Reflection ** ~~
"The Lord says...'I will rescue you and keep you safe. When
you are in trouble, call out to Me. I will answer and be there to
protect and honor you. You will live a long life and see My
saving power.'" (Ps. 91:14-16.) Sounds wonderful, doesn't
it? And it is indeed. However, I deliberately omitted a condition
on this promise of God. Verse 14 first stipulates, "If you
love Me and truly know Who I am..." How many people don't
pray until they are in a jam? How many people pray to God Whom
they don't truly know or with Whom they have not fallen in love?
The knowledge (relationship) and the love come first..."Seek
first the kingdom of God, then...." The power and
effectiveness of your prayers depend upon the intimacy of your
relationship with God. And intimacy requires a lot of time and
attention, one to one. How important it is to our very being to
provide our Lord our full and solitary attention! Jesus made it a
regular habit, "sneaking" away from everyone to spend
hours, nights, in prayerful intimacy. His disciples sometimes had
to look for Him in the mornings. WWJD? (What would Jesus do?) is
another way of saying follow His example and practice. And
intimacy with God is number 1 in my top ten list of Christ's
living examples to follow.

2. ~~ ** Product and Services Updates ** ~~
To our new subscribers and a reminder to all others, our audio
prayer feature on the web site was reintroduced last week and
over 100 people have "tuned in" this week. You know how
we are striving to make this Newsletter open to your
participation. If you have a prayer you would like recorded on
the web site, we can read it for you or you can send us a tape of
your own recording (Prayergear.com, P.O. Box 436, Chatsworth, NJ
08019.) Use us to help sing your praises to the Lord throughout
the world!
We are continuing to prepare our previously announced outreach to
regions where Scripture in the native language is difficult to
access. As we said last week, the Internet is replacing the old
"Radio Free Europe" with tremendously far more power
and world wide penetration than radio ever provided.
This week we will be substantially adding inventory to our online
store in the categories of Bible card and board games, computer
games, puzzles, prayer and job charts and special feature videos.
Please keep checking in!

3. ~~ ** Subscriber Sharings ** ~~
-- "A couple of newsletters ago you broke the Lord's Prayer
down into sections, each dealing with an essential area in
Christian life. I would like to share something that struck me
about the "daily bread" part. Jesus didn't teach us to
ask for our weekly bread, our monthly bread, or a good retirement
bread. I know He and His disciples lived day to day. But I think
that His emphasis on "this day" and "daily
bread" meant to remind us to depend on Him every day and not
on stored up "bread treasures." He did talk about that
on His sermon on the mount, about paying attention to today and
not worrying about tomorrow, which isn't here yet. I think it's a
good idea to keep giving Him our tomorrow and asking for today's
bread. Thank you."
And thank you! I agree and am grateful for this observation.

4. ~~ ** Cruising Christian Cyberspace! ** ~~
Our Christian web site feature this week is Case Studies
(http://www.case-studies.com)
The name "Case Studies" is a twist on the author's name
of this quite varied site, Dan Case. In addition to great
resources in Christian studies, the site has the weekly features
(such as "The Default Church" which got my interest)
and "Hot Spots", which are truly hot and controversial
issues between the spiritual and secular worlds. There much to
tell, but take a look for yourself.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
5. ~~ ** Let us know! ** ~~
Let us know your thoughts on this week's Reflection. Let us know
how you can help us in our ministry outreach and how we can help
you in yours. Let us know how we can improve our web site and
online store and provide better educational and product services.
Let us know of the spiritual challenges you face in your region
of this world, and your triumphs. Let us know your prayer
requests. Please keep in touch and let us know!
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
5. This week's Weekly Reflection follows. Please
encourage others to subscribe! Share this newsletter with many of
your friends and help spread the word. That's our only means of
growing and reaching more people, especially regarding our
cyberspace outreach plans...your recommendations to others.
So in gratitude to God for all things, let me bid you grace in
the Name of our Lord and please keep in touch with us! We are
blessed to hear from you!
