1. ~~ ** Mini-Reflection ** ~~

This month's Weekly Reflection theme is "Adjusting the Focal Point". The Pharaoh tried adjusting Moses' focal point by degrees. He first tempted Moses with the suggestion to go ahead and worship God, just don't leave Egypt. When that didn't work, Pharaoh, in effect, said, "Well, if you must leave Egypt, don't go far. Hang around." Moses' focal point remained on God's directive. So Pharaoh continued with the offer to have the men go out and worship, but leaving the women and children behind. Finally, the Pharaoh said, "Go, but your animals stay." Moses could only reply, "Not one hoof is to be left behind." (Exodus 10:26.) Pharaoh failed to adjust Moses' focal point on the mission God gave him. We will be considering the examples of Moses and Nehemiah in keeping the spiritual focal point well adjusted in parts 3 and 4 of this month's Weekly Reflections.

2. ~~ ** Product and Services Updates ** ~~

A reminder from last week: "To our new subscribers and a reminder to all others, our audio prayer feature on the web site was reintroduced last week and over 100 people have "tuned in" this week. You know how we are striving to make this Newsletter open to your participation. If you have a prayer you would like recorded on the web site, we can read it for you or you can send us a tape of your own recording (Prayergear.com, P.O. Box 436, Chatsworth, NJ 08019.) Use us to help sing your praises to the Lord throughout the world!"

We mentioned last week that many nationals and missionaries in countries where Bibles are not easily accessible or illegal do have access to online computers and satellite cellular phones (along with ground wire phone connections). Among our subscribers are people from Romania, Latvia, India and other Christianity-oppressed countries. We also reported how, in some countries, pastors tear out pages from the Bible and distribute them among the worshippers, who, in turn, hand-copy them. At their next meeting, they exchange these precious pages of scripture and repeat the task of hand-copying. To help disseminate the Gospel in these regions, Prayergear.com has created links to Bible translations in Russian and Chinese, located on our Cruising Christian Cyberspace page on our web site. We will continue to add more links to other languages during the week.

We also added more inventory to our online store. Please keep checking in to "window shop" and support our ministry and livelihoods with your purchases. We offer order options by check or credit cards and work hard at servicing our customers.

3. ~~ ** Subscriber Sharings ** ~~

We thank you for keeping this section of the Weekly Newsletter alive. We are grateful for the short, encouragement e-mails you send. And below is a comment from a US subscriber. Your responses are encouraged!

< Recently many of my Christian friends have been e-mailing things to me that
seem to be blatantly anti-homosexual. Some of these things even blame gays
and lesbians for many of the world's problems. I think that much of this is
being stirred up because it is an election year. Well, I say what's the
difference? Is not homosexuality a sin? Sure it is. So is adultery,
alcoholism, gambling, and a whole host of other sinful activities that
heterosexuals take part in. Who among us is blemish free? If anyone says
God hates homosexuals, well they need to study their Bible more. Because He
does not hate homosexuals. He hates their sin and He hates it a lot. But
He loves them and He died for them on the cross. My family lives in a part
of the country that has a high percentage of gay and lesbian people, and in
fact my husband and I both work with many gays and lesbians. We have chosen
to love our friends and coworkers, even if we hate their sin. But we also
hate the sins of our straight friends, and pray for their salvation too. If
you want to see homosexuals get saved then you need to accept them as fellow
human beings. Invite them to your church. Invite them to your home and
show them the Jesus film. We did! You catch more flies with honey than you
do with vinegar. How can Christians expect gays to come to Jesus and stop
sinning if we are constantly petitioning governments to take their rights
away? If you want to stop homosexuality in your community, the only
ammunition you have is prayer. Pray for the salvation of these people
because you, too are a sinner. You are forgiven. They could be too if you
would show them God's love. >
