Greetings to all of you as we begin a new month and a new Weekly
Reflection theme! Thank you again for reflecting with us on God's
scripture and the resources of His children.

1. ~~ ** Mini-Reflection ** ~~
"Now faith is indeed the open sesame to eternal blessedness.
Without faith it is impossible to please God; neither can anyone
be saved apart from faith in the Risen Savior. But the true
quality of faith is almost universally missed, namely its moral
quality. It is more than mere confidence in the veracity of a
statement made in Holy Writ. It is a highly moral thing and of a
spiritual essence. It invariably effects radical transformation
in the life of the one who exercises it. It shifts the inward
gaze from self to God. It introduces its possessor into the life
of heaven upon earth." (A. W. Tozer, "The Divine

2. ~~ ** Cruising Christian Cyberspace! ** ~~
Our web site feature of the week is
Citizen Links to Urban Myths Within the Christian Community

We all know the destructiveness of rumors and false information
to us personally and to our society. The Internet is such a quick
propagator of falsehoods that several web sites are devoted just
to debunking them. The link above is to one of the pages
published by the reputable Focus on the Family Ministries. It has
this important message: "The next time someone presses your
outrage button by telling you such & such appeared on a talk
show saying something outrageous, ask for a
transcript--especially before passing on the information. And if
those rumors involve the names of Procter & Gamble and ...
you are out of luck: There are no such transcripts. These
individuals never appeared on the talk shows identified in common
rumors continuing to spread among Christians and other
conservatives. These rumors--highlighting hot-button issues such
as Satanism, the occult, or a broad definition of
cultists--constitute enough illustrations to fill out any
pastor's sermon file on gossip and the spread of rumors. Other
rumors to add to this list include those involving Madelyn Murray
O'Hair... " It ends with a composite of many secular myths
that made their way around the globe many times over and will
leave you laughing.

The writer quoted in the Mini-Reflection challenges me to think
and ponder. As a result, whether I agree with him or not, I learn
a lot. His books are available on our online store (check out

to always use the Scriptures to "discern the spirit" of
any writer or source of information. And continue to browse
through the many other faith building products available. Your
purchases support our ministries.
