Hello again to our family of subscribers! We trust the past week
has been spiritually productive for you as we keep you all in our
prayers. Please do the same for us as we labor in Christ's
service. Help get the word out and help us grow by forwarding
this newsletter to two or three people you believe would
appreciate its contents and encourage them to subscribe.

1. ~~ ** Mini-Reflection ** ~~
Suppose you receive a long letter from a friend. If you read
parts from the middle and the end, skipping around, you would not
fully grasp what your friend had to say. Most of the New
Testament are letters. Please keep in mind that these letters
were not divided into chapters by the inspired writers. Those
(often arbitrary) chapters were later created by biblical
translators. Reading God's word is essential to our spiritual
growth. Consider reading the biblical books and letters with the
same excitement and approach you would have with a friend's
letter or newly published book, starting at the beginning and
working through to the end as it was meant to be read.
All heresy, cults, deviations from the truth, are biblically
based! They are born out of the prevalent practice of
out-of-context-reading. Take one passage you like, ignore the
context, and you can build a false theology on it. You could
quote the first sentence of this paragraph to another and he or
she would think I'm a heretic! Without the surrounding sentences,
that first sentence would be completely misunderstood. (That's
why we ask that you forward these newsletters in their entirety.
<g>)
Finally, if you are in Christ and He is in you, you will someday
meet the writers of the books and letters of the Bible. That's
exciting! If I were scheduled to have dinner with a famous
writer, I would want to read what he or she wrote prior to
meeting them in person. That enhances the experience of relating
to the writer. And knowing I would meet that person enhances the
experience of my reading and study. I would pay more attention!
The writers of the books and letters of the Bible are alive and
are our spiritual brothers. We will join them at our Lord's table
someday. Let us think on these things and renew our excitement
and interest and deepen our experience in reading and prayerfully
pondering the Living Word of God.

2. ~~ ** Cruising Christian Cyberspace! ** ~~
Our web site feature of the week is
The Word for Today (http://www.twft.com)
The Word for Today is a radio ministry of the Calvary Chapel of
Costa Mesa. At a recent pastors conference I met (and did a lot
of listening to) the pastor of Calvary Chapel/Costa Mesa, Chuck
Smith, one of the most prominent Bible teachers today. His work
began during the cultural and spiritual upheavals during the
1960s and has grown into an international network of Calvary
Chapel churches, a biblically based, Spirit led movement. Explore
the instructional treasures on this web site in the form of
literature, audio, radio and talk show and the Calvary Satellite
Network projecting the voice of the Word through out the world.

3. ~~ ** Prayergear.com Product and Service Updates ** ~~
The Internet is a rich resource of knowledge and interaction. But
like every thing else humans have created, it also has its evil
side. The scriptures teach us to be vigilant and watchful of evil
in the spiritual realm and this would extend to cyberspace as
well. We have added a new product, a CD-ROM, that is so simple to
use, called "ComputerCop". Those of you who must share
your computers with others, such as children and office workers,
can quickly review how others are using your PC, what they are
looking at, what chat rooms they spend time in, etc. If you feel
the need to improve your stewardship over your computer conduit
to the world, check out this product at our online store under
software or
If you missed the movie feature on the prophecies of Revelation,
The Omega Code is now available on video and DVD. We are sure you
heard of it and it is outstanding, destined to be a classic. You
can get your copy from the online store in the videos section or
In keeping with our Weekly Reflection theme, the audio prayer on
the What's New/Article Index page of our website has been changed
to "A Prayer for Redemption." Please listen to it and
use it as a guide for your own response to the call of Christ or
for your rededication to that call.
Your purchases support our ministries. Please share this resource
with others.

4. ~~ ** Let us know! ** ~~
One of our Canadian online store customers wrote this to us:
"It was a pleasure doing business with you and I look
forward to dealing with you again in the future. Your commitment
to customer care and satisfaction is a tremendous blessing."
We appreciate hearing that and it underscores our perception of
the products store as a ministry rather than a business. It is a
blessed delight to distribute both information and products that
honor our Lord and promote the Gospel!
We remind you of our invitation to help write this month's Weekly
Reflections on The Call of Christ. Email your experiences with
Christ's call to prayercare@aol.com and help us encourage others
to respond to Him and His Good News. Let us send a collective
voice through out the world!

5. ~~ This week's Weekly Reflection follows below ~~
"Blessed be the Name of the Lord, from this time forth and
forever more, from the shining of the sun to its going down, the
Lord's Name is to be praised." (Psalm 113:2-3) That's what
this life is all about! Until next week...
God bless!
